Courtesy Reminder Regarding Handicapped Parking

Each building in Siena has 2 designated handicapped parking spaces.  They are available to anyone with a valid handicapped placard and registration.

These spaces are available on a “first come, first serve” basis.  They are not assigned to any specific individual.  They can be used by owners, renters, visitors and guests.

There is no maximum time limit that a vehicle can be parked in a handicapped space. However if a handicapped individual is going to be away from Siena for an extended period of time, it would be courteous to other handicapped individuals if the vehicle could be moved to the owner’s designated space in the carport.

Courtesy Reminders

COURTESY REMINDERS TO SIENA RESIDENTS, RENTERS, VISITORS AND GUESTS

As snowbirds return and renters come to Siena to enjoy the Florida sun and warmth, this is a good time to remind everyone of a few items that make living in a condo more enjoyable for everyone.

Please make sure there are no bicycles, planters or other items in the hallways.  This is a violation of the fire code and Siena is subject to fines by the fire department.  Any item in the walkway will be removed.

Smoking and vaping is only permitted in  a condo.  It is not permitted on lanais or in common areas.

Please put self-adhesive felt pads on the bottom of chair legs.  Chairs scraping on tile transmit sound directly to the unit below and adjacent units.

Please make sure all garbage is disposed of in sealed garbage bags.  Do not use the small plastic bags given out at grocery stores and never put raw garbage or food scraps in the trash.

Violations of these policies are subject to fines.

Trash Bags

PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL GARBAGE IS DISPOSED OF IN SECURED AND WELL TIED TRASH BAGS

Several building’s trash rooms have become filled with horseflies because garbage—especially food scraps-is being thrown down the garbage chutes in open or poorly secured containers.  This attracts horseflies and other insects.  It can also attract animals and pose a danger to individuals who enter the trash rooms.

It is imperative that all garbage be placed in trash bags and tied properly.  DO NOT USE THE PLASTIC BAGS GROCERY STORES USE AT CHECKOUT.   They do not stay closed and are not meant to be used as trash bags

Thank you.

Notice on Bike Storage

BIKE STORAGE IN THE BIKE RACKS

This is a reminder to Siena residents and renters regarding outside storage of bikes.

Bike racks are here for the convenience of active cyclists, particularly in season. Bikes stored in bike racks that have flat tires, rusty frames, split or cracked seats, etc. are not in active use and need to be removed from the racks..

Such bikes, if left in a bike rack for more than 30 days will be considered abandoned and are subject to being hauled away.

There are several reasons for this action:

  1. Summer is particularly hard on bikes left outdoors. Strong sunshine, heavy rain, high humidity and the occasional hurricane can ruin a bike very quickly.
  2. Derelict bikes are an eyesore and reflect poorly on our community.

Bike owners who are gone for an extended period of time need to store their bikes in their unit, not on a bike rack or under a stairwell.

Thank you.

HURRICANE PREPAREDNESS

Siena’s Rules and Regulations require that Unit Owners who plan to be absent from their unit during the hurricane season (June 1 — November 30) must prepare the unit prior to departure.

Those preparations include, at a minimum:

  • Remove all furniture and other items from the lanai, unless the lanai has hurricane blinds such as “Storm Smart.”
  • Turn off main water valve
  • Turn off hot water heater circuit breaker
  • Turn off ice maker and empty ice cubes
  • Remove perishable items from freezer and refrigerator
  • Provide Schoo Management (239-362-3091) the name of your Home Watch or other local individual who has access to your unit in event of emergency

Reminder – Smoking and Vaping

SMOKING AND VAPING IS LIMITED TO A UNIT’S INTERIOR SPACE

THIS IS A REMINDER TO SIENA OWNERS, RENTERS, VISITORS AND GUESTS

Smoking and vaping in Common Areas and Limited Common Areas is not permitted in Siena. While owners may have exclusive rights to the use of their lanai, lanais are a “Limited Common Area’ and covered by this prohibition.

Smoking and vaping on lanais or in Common Areas such as walkways, carports and grounds is an annoyance and a nuisance and prohibited by Siena’s By-Laws.

Thank you for your cooperation,
Siena Board

Request to Large Pick-up Truck Owners

A REQUEST TO OWNERS OF LARGE PICK-UP TRUCKS USING THE VISITORS’ PARKING LOTS:

PLEASE BACK IN WHEN USING THESE LOTS

Large pick-up trucks, with extended trailer hitches and other accessories connected to the rear bumpers can protrude beyond the normal parking space in the Visitors’ parking areas, and may extend into Amiata Way. This can be hazardous both to your truck and vehicles on Amiata Way.

This hazard can be reduced if you back your truck into the parking space.

PLEASE BE COURTEOUS TO YOUR SIENA NEIGHBORS

Owners and renters must realize that living in a condominium requires one to be considerate of their neighbors. With neighbors living above, beside and below you, scraping and other sounds can be transmitted to adjacent units. This can be a real nuisance. A few simple and inexpensive steps can reduce or eliminate this issue.

Chairs, tables and other furniture that is dragged across tile floors is quite noisy.  It is for this reason that the furniture’s legs should be on carpet or padded with felt or other noise-reducing material.

These pads can be purchased online or at most any home goods store, and only take a few minutes to apply.  Your neighbors will thank you for your thoughtfulness.

TRASH ROOM ETIQUETTE—ANOTHER REMINDER TO ALL

As the below photo shows, our trash rooms are sometimes becoming overloaded.

The good news is that starting next week, trash will be picked up twice a week, but all residents and renters are reminded that ALL boxes must be broken down, and arrangements must be made with the Board for this disposal of TVs and other appliances, furniture, electronics and paints and other hazardous or toxic materials.

Thank you for your cooperation and consideration.

Regulations Reminder

REMINDER-SIENA RESIDENTS MUST COMPLY WITH PELICAN PRESERVE’S REGULATIONS

Just as Siena has rules and restrictions in it’s by-laws and Declaration, Pelican Preserve has rules and restrictions that apply to residents, renters and guests in all HOAs

One of those rules requires that dogs must be on a leash whenever they are outdoors.
